Anthony Douglas treks in Nepal for Cornerstone’s families
Anthony Douglas, chairman of The Cornerstone Partnership’s Developmental Advisory Board, is taking on a mountain of a task to help support the work we are doing.
As well as the incredible hard work he does advising, steering and supporting us with all we do, Anthony is now lacing up his walking books and trekking to Nepal in a bid to raise £3,000 for Cornerstone families.
The incredible challenge takes place in April next year and on top of all the work he does as chief executive for CAFCASS and chairman of Cornerstone, Anthony is preparing for his great trek.
Anthony said: “The numbers of children needing adoption exceed the numbers of carers available. Adoption services need to reach out to groups of potential adopters who may be able to help vulnerable children. Today’s professional model may not work in the future. Innovation is crucial to future proof services. This is why I am fundraising for Cornerstone. I am taking ten days annual leave to make this additional personal contribution to help the children in care I have supported throughout the last 40 years of my career. This will always be a lifelong commitment for me.”
